I changed my mind..its WEB 2.0

WEB 2.0

The first time I heard the word WEB 2.0, is that what comes on my mind is its all about web applications, and absolutely it is all about the web. According to the Wikipedia it describes the changing trends in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aim to enhance creativity, communications, secure information sharing, collaboration and functionality of the web. But it is hard for to me understand the meaning of that word because don’t have a wide background what WEB 2.0 is. And when the time my teacher Mylene Sereno explained it I was absent. So I searched the net and finally got the clear definition of what WEB 2.0 means. Web 2.0 encapsulates the idea of the proliferation of interconnectivity and interactivity of web-delivered content. Tim O'Reilly regards Web 2.0 as the way that business embraces the strengths of the web and uses it as a platform

Web 2.0 technologies tend to foster innovation in the assembly of systems and sites composed by pulling together features from distributed, independent developers. (This could be seen as a kind of "open source" or possible "Agile" development process, consistent with an end to the traditional software adoption cycle, typified by the so-called "perpetual beta".)
Users can own the data on a Web 2.0 site and exercise control over that data. These sites may have an "Architecture of participation" that encourages users to add value to the application as they use it. This stands in contrast to very old traditional websites, the sort which limited visitors to viewing and whose content only the site's owner could modify. Web 2.0 sites often feature a rich, user-friendly interface based on Ajax, OpenLaszlo, Flex or similar rich media. WEB 2.0 is really great because it so innovative and it help lot of people specially the businessmen.

What I understand about WEB 2.0 is it can be use any where you are because it is a web based application. Web 2.0 was referred to as this idea of the "Web as a platform". The concept was such that instead of thinking of the Web as a place where browsers viewed data through small windows on the readers' screens, the Web was actually the platform that allowed people to get things done. Writers and developers are able to create applications and Web sites that get more credibility than traditional news sources and software vendors.
